Here Are Three Time-Tested Strategies When Raising Teens And Children
Monday, June 27th, 2011There is nothing quite like the parenting experiences we have when children make the wrong choices and a problem presents itself. Indeed, such situations can force us to call upon all our accumulated knowledge and wisdom. Of course, it’s hard to predict how things will turn out. The only solution that really works is to establish a bond with your children that’s based on genuine love and respect. If there’s an enduring sense of love and caring between parents and children, no problem is insurmountable. Regardless of all the difficulties, we and our children always know the other loves them.
Children of toddler age are full of emotion, and of course they experience common feelings such as embarrassment and even humiliation. If your children misbehave when you’re out with them somewhere, find a way to administer discipline without delay. While it’s not pleasant to deal with this kind of situation in public, you have to address it and the sooner the better. Even though you’re in a public area, though, it’s usually possible to find a little privacy where you’re not right in front of people.
You should keep this issue between you and them, as having an audience can be damaging to the child’s feeling of self worth. Plus, they really can and often do feel humiliated and embarrassed even if they do not openly show it. Teenage children have got to be the most difficult to deal with of any age of child rearing. Both mental and physical changes are beginning to occur, something that will make them very off-balanced and difficult to deal with. It is probably a fairly useless tactic to start lecturing them about the things that you want them to do or that you are upset about. Start talking to your kids more so that you can connect to them when difficulties happen. You need to play the role of the adult and talk to them about what is going on. Think of the times that you have been lectured by your boss and how it felt inside. By being honest and straightforward with your teens, they will appreciate what you are doing and how you are coming across to them.
One of the worst parenting mistakes you can make is to allow children to break the rules you’ve established without suffering any consequences. What we mean is not following through with the very consequences we have communicated with your children. Some parents allow their children to avoid consequences by crying or begging, and this undermines any attempts at discipline. This kind of inconsistency can create a truly chaotic and undisciplined atmosphere in a home, where children don’t respect any limits. However, if you stick to your guns and stand your ground, then in time they will come to respect that. Even if they don’t appreciate it right away, in the long run they’ll be much better off understanding that rules can’t be ignored.
From a very young age, until the time they leave home, your kids will test you to see if you can handle what they have to offer. The proper way to handle these difficult moments is to relax and stick to the basics.

Panasonic HDC-TM900
Panasonic’s camcorders have topped our list for videomaking fans for two years now, with the HDC-TM700 and HDC-TM300 before it. The progression hasn’t been a big one between each step, but when the core features are all present, there’s not such a lot to improve. The HDC-TM900 is another incremental enhancement, but it does have features to make it worth selecting over its predecessors.
The most significant difference is the ability to shoot 3D. While Panasonic’s first 3D-capable client mpeg recorder, the HDC-SDT750, was a full package including the 3D converter, with this generation Panasonic has switched to selling the VW-CLT1 attachment separately, and only built in compatibility to key models from its latest range. These include the HDC-SD90 we looked at latterly, and the HDC-TM900 on review here. The lens attachment will set you back a fairly big ?280, but this still makes the combo cost around ?200 less than the HDC-SDT750 did when it was released.
The same flaws apply, though. Calibration is sensible whenever you remove and reattach the adapter, and this takes around half a minute. Virtually all of the manual features are disabled in this mode, also , including the zoom. So you are left with a single framing option and automated exposure. Video is recorded in the side by side format immediately onto the sensor, effectively using half its area for every one of the two stereoscopic portions, so low light sensitivity is halved as well . Nonetheless, in sufficient lighting results are decent, with a clear sense of depth, and good colour fidelity, though the level of detail is barely impaired over 2D photographs.
Apart from its compatibility with the 3D attachment nevertheless , the HDC-TM900 is very much more of a mild improvement to the HDC-TM700 than a revolutionary new model. It is really a little larger and heavier, but this is almost wholly due to the inclusion of a 3.5in LCD instead of a 3in one, which is a trade-off we’re quite happy to accept. Inside, the TM900 has identical specs to the TM700. It’s built around a threesome of 0.25 .1in CMOS sensors, each with 3.05Mpixels. The lens has the same blueprint also , providing a 12x optical zoom and 35mm equivalent wide angle, so you can capture more of the action at close quarters.
